IBM Cloud Website Design

Problem

The original homepage focused on the adoption plan while rallying teams to think like a platform and use a common set of tools. This new homepage should reflect the initiatives we want teams to adopt like the dark theme and new patterns and services.

Scope

Updating the site homepage to reflect Cloud PAL's next step while still encouraging teams to think like a platform and creating consistent, delightful experiences for Public Cloud.

Background

What is Cloud PAL? Who are the users?

Cloud PAL (pattern & asset library) was built on top of the IBM’s Carbon Design System to unify the IBM Cloud platform.

Before Cloud PAL, users were met with inconsistent experience because teams were working in silos. Often, teams were found rebuilding components that already exited or creating their own set of design guidelines. Not to mention that the Cloud designers were often building specialized components that weren’t in used or created in the Carbon design system.

Now, this PAL site helps to bridge the gap for teams, making them more connected than ever. Here, teams can find patterns, components, and guidance dedicated for over 50+ teams and 100+ services. And updating the homepage will highlight new initiatives we want these teams to adopt.
